Lynn Lin is an experienced qualitative researcher and consultant based in Shanghai with twelve years’ experience in decoding people, culture and business.
In 2019, she co-founded FutureMatters, a future-oriented consulting studio focused on integrating insight with foresight and exploring the futures to reveal new business opportunities.
In 2018, she co-founded FuturistCircle, China's first Futures community that connects futurists, trend-spotters, innovation leaders and change-makers with futures thinking, to co-create and shape the future together.
Prior to establishing her own consultancy, Lynn led design research and methodologies at Continuum a global innovation design firm. Earlier she was Senior Research Manager at Nielsen Consumer Insights where she led a highly motivated team and achieved a 30% revenue growth in the automobile division.
Lynn's extensive industry experience covers lifestyle, automobile ( electric), FMCG (food & beverage, skincare), retail, logistics, fashion as well as technology, real estate, and health & wellness. Such a diversity of exposure across many industries allows her to recognize patterns early and make sense of emerging trends and the unfolding futures.
Lynn has earned awards for outstanding performance from Nielsen, and is sought out as a guest presenter at conferences. She is also a guest lecturer at Design & Innovation College of Tongji University.
She graduated from Shanghai International Studies University with an Arts degree majoring in Journalism and Broadcasting. Lynn honed her passion for helping clients innovate for the long haul through continuing studies program in futures thinking at Stanford University and a strategic foresight course with the renowned futurist, Sohail Inayatullah.
