Professor Jonathan A.J. Wilson, PhD DLitt, is an award-winning London practitioner who splits his time between industry and academia. Prof specializes in what he calls the ABCD of business and culture: Advertising, Branding, Communication, and Digital - championing the art of Science, and the science of Art.
Jonathan works globally with governments, organizations, brands, and individuals on bringing branding, business strategy, and cultures to life - covering the following sectors: Halal, travel, tourism, education, technology, media, food, fashion, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, Islamic finance, professional services, music, sports, identity, ethnicity, religion, generational, and popular culture.
Jonathan has published over 200 pieces of work, given over 100 conference talks to audiences of up to 5,000 delegates, and travelled to 40 countries.
His book, Halal Branding, published in 2018, was covered by Forbes. Prof has been Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Islamic Marketing for 12 years, created and presents online masterclasses for LinkedIn Learning, GoodHabitz, and FutureLearn, and received “Top Voices” awards from LinkedIn for 4 consecutive years - also featuring in their TV and online advertising campaigns

Jonathan earned a BSc Chemistry degree, an MBA, a PhD in Global Branding, Management, and Culture, and a Doctor of Letters (DLitt), for his work on understanding Halal and Muslim consumption patterns (35% of the world’s population by 2038, half of whom are under 25 years old), in the context of branding, marketing, and business.
As a professional musician earlier in his career, Jonathan featured on the first few Grand Theft Auto (GTA) video games, and performed internationally on television and stages like Glastonbury music festival. He won national prizes for his ceramics as a teenager, and was an England U18 rugby squad member. Currently, he holds 7 Dan grades in Japanese martial arts.
Jonathan is fascinated by people and tackling kick-ass edutainment.
