Janice Hart

Cosmetic Chemist, Beauty Industry & Fragrance Expert

Janice Hart is an expert in the Beauty Industry with over two decades of experience in business development, olfactive creation, and personal care formulation. She entered the world of beauty as a chemist and expanded her knowledge into the wonders of fragrance development. Currently Janice is a Director for Bell Flavors and Fragrances specializing in the creation of unique natural fragrances and high quality botanical extracts. 

Janice has engaged, at many different levels, in product formulation, technology transfer, and fragrance design with companies such as L’Oréal, Unilever, Estée Lauder, Johnson & Johnson, and Coty as well as with celebrity brands such as Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Oscar de La Renta, Perry Ellis, Giuliana Rancic, and James Bond 007 Quantum. 

Janice holds a US Patent and has published multiple articles for Cosmetic & Toiletries and GCI Magazine. She co-authored a chapter for The Delivery System Handbook for Personal Care and Cosmetic Products. 

She has a passion to find solutions, innovate, and share her experience and vast network to help people connect and grow in their field.  She is frequently pursued as a speaker for industry events including the Society of Cosmetic Chemists Annual Scientific Meeting and the Annual Cosmeceutical Conference. 

She is a proud member of Women in Flavors & Fragrances, Cosmetic Executive Women, and The Society of Cosmetic Chemists, where she was chairperson of the Long Island Chapter and recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award. 

Janice grew up near the ocean and water sport and care for the environment has been a life-long passion. As a competitive swimmer, PADI certified scuba diver and synchronized swimmer, coach and judge, she developed her own line of hair and skin care

products for synchronized swimmers. She is an avid sailor and racer in the Long Island Sound and Southern New England Region, and has led many impactful projects to improve the condition of Long Island’s many sensitive bays and harbors as stalwart of the “Save the Sound” Initiatives.
